The accused are Jason Decelis, 35 and his mother Concetta 57. They are serving prison terms of 25 years and 15 years respectively for causing the death of Rachel Bowdler, 18, in 2001. Her body was found in a field near Mgarr.

The new charges were filed against them after the prison authorities found drugs in a skip at the prisons. They allegedly traced the drug back to the accused.

The court today heard evidence by warder Divuanne Georgevina about how cannabis was found in a packet and how the accused used to work near the skip.
