The motorcyclist who died in a traffic accident in Tarxien early this morning is Chris Marlin, an Express Trailer employee.

The police said the accident happened at tax-Xintill Roundabout in Tarxien at around midnight.

Mr Marlin, 50, from Ta’ Xbiex, lost control of his Kawasaki and crashed into the roundabout.

A medical team was called to assist him but he died on site.

In a post on Facebook, Express Trailers chairman and CEO Franco Azzopardi saidMr Marlin was one of the company's road ambassadors.

"As fate would have it, he left us on the very same roads he so diligently carried out his job with us," he said.

Last Friday, Mr Marlin apologised to friends and family for making them worry every time he used the bike.

"For you worried this could be my last. I want you to know that if that is the case, I’m sorry I left on such short notice. Please know that was never my intention."

An inquiry is being held and the police are investigating.
