Motorcyclist grievously injured in Mellieħa crash

Motorcycle involved in collision with car

A 40-year-old motorcyclist was grievously injured in a traffic accident in Mellieħa on Friday morning, police said.

The accident happened at around 10.15am in Triq Qasam Barrani.

Preliminary investigations found that a Toyota Rav 4, driven by a 57-year-old woman from Mellieħa, was involved in a collision with a Next Mojito motorcycle being ridden by the man, who lives in Żebbuġ.

A medical team assisted the motorcyclist on site before he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. He was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
