A man is fighting for his life after crashing his motorcycle into a car in Tarxien yesterday evening.

The 46-year-old Qormi resident was driving towards Triq San Anard from tal-Barrani road at around 8pm when he somehow lost control of his Honda motorcycle and ended up crashing into a Fiat Punto driving in the other direction.

He was rushed to Mater Dei hospital for treatment and is now in a critical condition, police said. 

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry into the incident. A police investigation is underway.
