Motorcyclist, 44, killed in Għajnsielem accident

The first fatal road accident of the year

A 44-year-old motorcyclist from Nadur was killed in a traffic accident in Għajnsielem on Thursday evening.

A police spokesperson said the accident happened at around 6.45pm on Triq Borg Għarib, when a car was involved in a collision with a SuperSoco motorbike.

The car - a VW Polo - was being driven by a 41-year-old man from Qala. 

This is the first fatal road accident this year. 

Police investigations and a magisterial inquiry are ongoing.

A total of 21 people lost their lives on Malta's roads in 2025.
