A 27-year-old motorcylist died this evening when his Honda motorcycle crashed into a wall in the Tal-Qroqq tunnels.

The accident happened at about 9.30pm.

The man, from Paola, died on the spot while a woman, 24 from Rabat, who was riding pillion was injured and hospitalised.

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
