Motorist hospitalised after car ends up in Wied is-Sewda field

The reason for the crash and the condition of the 56-year-old driver from Valletta are unknown

A motorist was hospitalised on Sunday after his car ended up in a field in a valley between Żebbuġ, Attard and Qormi.

Emergency responders were called to the incident, which took place in Wied is-Sewda, also known as the “Black Valley”, an area popular with gravel bike riders.

The Toyota Yaris car suffered heavy damage in the incident, with photos of the scene showing its windshield smashed and the chassis damaged in various places.

The driver is a 56-year-old man from Valletta, who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The reason for the crash and the condition of the driver are as yet unknown, though early investigations indicate he may have lost control of the vehicle.
