Mqabba fireworks enthusiasts on Sunday said they had broken a national record with a 90-metre mechanised ground fireworks display known as tapit at the locality's feast on Saturday.
Tapit by Għaqda tan-Nar Madonna tal-Ġilju.
The display featured 52 universal mechanisms made up of 10,000 lances and 3,000 different fountains, spread across 90 metres. It was set off during the village’s Symphony of Stars spectacle.
The spectacle also featured two towers synchronised to six musical pieces.
