Matthew Saliba, 22, of Sliema has won the first Mr Maltese Islands by FA Men contest, held by Modelle International under the direction of Sue Rossi and Claudia Calleja.

Mr Saliba has won the right to take part in the Mr World International pageant along with representatives of 72 other countries.

Adam Cini, 22, of Kappara, came second, followed by Kristoff Zammit Ciantar, 24 of Sta Lucija.

Mr Saliba also won the Mr Physique and Mr Photogenic titles while Kenneth Vella won the Best Personality title.
