Labour MP Joe Mizzi has filed an application in court against the Malta Resources Authority complaining that it was not upholding the interests of consumers in its consideration of the water and electricity tariffs.

He said that he first complained directly to the Authority in January last year but it was clear that the MRA had failed to adequately address his complaint.

He said the authority was acting more as the defender of the utility companies.

He called on the Authority to annul its decisions.

Dr Justyne Caruana signed signed the application
