MSC Cruises and cruise terminal operator Viset said today that MSC is commiting itself to cotninue to include Malta in its Mediterranean cruises itenerary for the next five years.
The agreement is the first of its kind by a cruise line with Viset.
Five of the company's cruise ships will make a total of 34 calls at Grand Harbour next year, bringing 150,000 passengers. The company is bringing some 130,000 passengers to Malta this year.
MSC cruise liners started calling in Malta in 2002.
Viset chairma Anton Micallef, said that MSC had always been viewed by Viset as a partner and not as a client. "Our relationship is solid and continuous. This five year agreement is a consolidation of the current excellent business relationship”.
The Chief Executive Officer of MSC Cruises, Pier Francesco Vago said: “MSC Cruises considers VISET Malta a reliable and dynamic partner. We praise the efforts that have been made to keep the port’s infrastructures and the waterfront suitable for our new generation vessels and we truly appreciate the outstanding hospitality our guests receive when disembarking.”
