The Malta Stock Exchange (MSE), in collaboration with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), has launched a series of seminars aimed at educating investors on the basic tenets of financial investment. This initiative complements the MSE's continued commitment to investor education and is the first in a string of activities that will be held in this regard.

Ninety participants are currently attending the first batch of four seminars during which they are briefed on the salient features of both equity and bond markets, while also being guided on how one should go about building a portfolio of financial assets. These presentations are being conducted by Reuben Fenech, chartered financial analyst in charge of the Research Unit at the MSE.

The final lecture will be delivered by Geoffrey Bezzina, consumer complaints manager at the MFSA, who will be giving a valuable insight into how one should act as a good consumer of financial services and products.

The seminars, which started on March 24, are being held at the Malta Stock Exchange in Valletta. Having been welcomed by Eileen V. Muscat, MSE general manager, the participants were shown around the new building hosting the MSE and subsequently were given an overview of the MSE's operations and functions.
