The Marsascala Shops Association discussed issues pertaining to the locality at a meeting with Mario Attard, director of the Malta Tourism Authority's product planning and development directorate.

The association said the MTA confirmed that it considered Marsascala as a prime tourism area. In this respect, it was agreed that the locality would be promoted in MTA's material on the level of other prime tourist areas.

The association said appropriate signs indicating heritage and cultural sites in Marsascala would be set up at the earliest. It said it has informed the MTA that the local council has been working on some heritage walks and agreed to take up the matter again with the council in order to encourage the implementation of such a project.

It was agreed that Marsascala would eventually be included in the tourist bus route, the association said.
