Two Malta Tennis Federation (MTF) officials recently attended the International Tennis Federation (ITF) annual general meeting in Marrakech, Morocco.

Peter J. Zammit, president, and Adrian Borg Cardona, Director of Finance, also had separate meetings with high-ranking ITF personnel responsible for various departments within the world tennis body.

Topics discussed included the participation of Maltese players in ITF events, the development of junior players and opportunities for officiating personnel.

The ITF also announced contracts with new sponsors while four new countries were accepted as members namely, Myanmar, Vietnam, Guinea-Bissau and Tuvalu.

During an official dinner, hosted by the Moroccan Tennis Federation, a certificate and a trophy were presented to Borg Cardona in recognition of his long service to tennis. He has been active in the MTF (formerly Malta Lawn Tennis Association) for 35 years.
