The Malta Union of Teachers has declared an industrial dispute after talks with Mcast reached a deadlock. It will hold a meeting ofr the staff on Thursday to discuss the situation and further action.

In a counter statement Mcast expressed its concern that the MUT had suddenly ended the talks. It said the college was seeking a collective agreement which would consider the growth which the College expected in the future. It appealed to the union to return to the negotiating table.

Meanwhile, the GWU said the expected progress in talks with the government over nursing aides had not been achieved and it will also hold a meeting for the members to discuss action.
