Representatives of the National Youth Council or Kunsill Nazzjonali taz-Zghazagh (KNZ) together with four other youth leaders from various youth organisations, will be attending the European Youth convention being held in Brussels from July 9 to 14.
This has been made possible by joint collaboration of both the KNZ and the European Commission's Delegation in Malta.
The youth delegation will visit the European Union's main institutions and meet officials from the EU-Malta enlargement team, the Directorate General of Education and Culture, and the European Commission.
These youth leaders will also have the opportunity to see how the EU works, how it has grown over the years and how it is going to develop in the future.
The National Youth Council believes that this is a good opportunity to raise the public profile of the work of the Convention and to encourage debate among young people about the future of Europe. The KNZ believes that the Youth Convention must not merely be a public relations exercise, but also part of a continuous process by which the voices of young people can be heard.
These four young people have been nominated by established youth organisations and then selected by the National Youth Council. The position of the KNZ on the future of Europe will be made public within the coming days.
