Naxxar local council has called for a meeting with Environment Minister Jose' Herrera over plans for an incinerator to be set up at Magħtab.

The council observed that to date, it had not been consulted or informed by the government about its plans.

It expressed its disappointment over the plans, as expressed in the media, pointing out that the locality of Naxxar was already suffering the consequences of the Magħtab landfill.

It said that once more information was available, it would hold a meeting for residents, for which the minister and his experts would be invited.
