Naxxar woman wins trip to Livigno

The winner of the The Sunday Times travel competition held in collaboration with YTC and Air Malta is Mrs Gloria Micallef of Naxxar. Mrs Micallef will be going on a week's holiday to the Alpine village of Livigno in northern Italy with the flight, coach transfers and accommodation in a three-star hotel on a bed and breakfast basis courtesy of YTC and Air Malta.

Her entry was chosen out of a total of over 400 received at The Sunday Times offices, highlighting the competition's popularity which has been held annually for the past couple of years. The competition was split over three weeks, with a question to be answered every week and a tie question on the last week.

In her reply to the tie question Mrs Micallef wrote: "A Tuscan farmhouse holiday is the ideal antidote to daily life... One can bask in luxurious unspoilt countryside while having Italy's cultural jewels such as Florence amd Siena at close quarters. A relaxing holiday... full of visual stimulation!".

YTC organise several summer and winter holidays, including group departures to Livigno. Although renowned as a top skiing resort in Europe, Livigno also offers a completely different - and equally attractive - mountain holiday in the summer months.

Accommodation is in the beautiful La Nuvola farmhouse situated on a lush Tuscan hill surrounded by 300 tumoli of its own land. Places visited include Siena, Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, the Chianti and Brunello wine regions, Pienza and Montalcino. The farmhouse is also available for individual motoring holidays.
