NCW to attend Perth assembly

The National Council of Women is participating in the International Council of Women (ICW) General Assembly taking place in Perth, Australia between August 31 and September 5.

Apart from other work the assembly will map out the programme for the next three years with the proposed themes being "The Girl-Child" and "Water Security and its Management for the Eradication of Poverty".

The councils which are members in the ICW will be responsible for taking measures that ensure that these issues are dealt with at a national level in the three years to come.

HSBC Bank Malta plc is sponsoring the NCW's participation.

Pauline Azzopardi, a manager at HSBC's Marketing Department, presented the sponsorship to Grace Attard, president of the NCW.
