A Spanish couple has been arrested after being found at the airport in possession of nearly 14kg of cannabis.

The discovery was made by customs officers during routine screening of passengers arriving from Seville.

A search of luggage picked up by the couple revealed 13 plastic bags containing 7.60kgs of cannabis in one case and six bags with 6.35kgs, in the other. 

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
