The House Social Affairs Committee met on Tuesday evening to discuss the seventh SAC report on The Family And The Elderly.

Committee chairman Edwin Vassallo stated that the present committee had held 95 sittings in three years – a record. There was a smile all around when Parliamentary Secretary Clyde Puli, chairman of the previous SAC who was obviously listening in, immediately sent in an SMS reminding the members that “substance was more important than quantity”.

Mr Vassallo proceeded to read out the report, with various members intervening to suggest insertions and ask questions.
