A new SPECT-CT scanner has been installed at Mater Dei Hospital, enabling specialists to diagnose conditions with greater precision, Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela said. 

The new equipment cost some €1 million.  

The new scanner will be used to diagnose conditions in orthopaedics, endocrinology, cardiology, pulmonology and cancer.
