"'Beauty is not enough' is the underlying concept of Alfa Romeo's new communications strategy, stressing the importance of substance over form," UCIM Co. Ltd marketing executive Ryan Buttigieg said yesterday during the launch of the Alfa Spider and GTV at the Alfa showroom in Msida.
The new models parade a brand new look and a revised range of specifications and power units.
The front view of both cars has changed with the incorporation, by Pininfarina, of present-day Alfa motifs. The shield, for example, is similar to that used on more recent models.
Various new features have been introduced into the passenger compartment of the new Alfa Spider and Alfa GTV. The interior has also been redefined as far as styling and ergonomics are concerned.
Engine-wise, the last power unit to grace the new range is the 150 bhp (110 kW) 2.0 Twin Spark, a distillation of Alfa's experience in Twin Spark technology. The performance is outstanding: the GTV reaches a top speed of 215 km/h, while the Spider reaches 210 km/h.
