The Malta Developers Association said on Monday that the minister responsible for planning and the Planning Authority should officially confirm that any new application for petrol stations would be subject to the planned revised policy.
'This would help to relieve the Authority of pressure to commit it to observe the prevailing policy and to avoid discrimination between applicants' the MDA said.
The association said there appeared to be a national consensus for a change in the policy regulating permits for fuel stations.
It agreed that the policy should be reviewed.
The association made no mention of applications which have already been submitted.
