ICT primary support teachers have launched blogs to support their colleagues in exploiting technology in primary classrooms.

Teachers and computers is a new blog set up by Amanda Debattista with practical tips on how to make the most of hardware, software and internet in teaching and learning.

In the past few weeks Ms Debattista has covered such software as Picasa, an application for organising, editing and displaying digital photos; and Audacity, a freeware program typically used to record and manipulate audio files. Some practical tips were also shared on using YouTube, which apart from entertaining and personal videos offers thousands of tutorials and training videos that are easily appreciated by today's internet generation.

These tips are also aimed at teachers to support them in their personal professional development. Teachers and readers of the blog can interact with the author by commenting to posts and asking related questions.

Other ICT support teachers are in the process of launching their own blogs as part of a drive by the Education Department to exploit the interactive elements of internet, especially electronic learning.
