Architect Martin Saliba has been appointed executive chairman of the Planning Authority.

The Infrastructure Ministry said the appointment followed a call for applications and an evaluation process.

Over the past year Mr Saliba was chairman of the Environmental Review Tribunal having previously worked in Mepa.

Mr Saliba holds a masters degree in planning.

He succeeds Yohan Buttigieg.
