Ark Publishing Ltd will this year again be collecting outdated copies of the Yellow Pages when it distributes more than 210,000 copies of the 2002/3 edition to homes, businesses and hotels over the coming weeks.

Ark said it wanted to prevent unnecessary waste from finding its way into Malta's overburdened landfill sites.

Last year it recovered 60,000 outdated copies.

Each household and office will receive a notice informing them of the exact date of delivery and asking them to leave their old copies near their letter boxes, on their doorstep or in the hallway in the case of apartments.

Delivery is set to start on Monday.

Delivery dates vary according to region and area but all the directories will be delivered by September 17.
