New GM for cash & carry firm

Reno Tanti, 41, has been appointed general manager at Guido Vella Cash & Carry, a fully owned subsidiary of the Farsons Group.

Mr Tanti has extensive experience in the beverage industry and occupied a number of positions within the Farsons Group over the past 16 years.

"It is exactly one year since the Farsons Group acquired Guido Vella Cash & Carry Limited. The company continues to operate as a separate entity to other companies within the Group but with the added benefits from having access to Farsons' resources and expertise. Mr Tanti's appointment as general manager will help Guido Vella Cash & Carry to further consolidate its position as an important wholesaler in the beverage market," Louis A. Farrugia, chief executive officer of the Farsons, said.

Mr Tanti joined Farsons in 1989 having spent the previous nine years studying and working in Malta, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Between 1989 and 1997 he was national sales manager for Simonds Farsons Cisk before being appointed export development manager, a position he held until 2001. Prior to becoming export business unit manager in 2002, Mr Tanti spent a year as general manager for Ecopure Premium Water Co Ltd, a subsidiary of the Farsons Group.
