Gozo Bishop Nikol Cauchi has appointed Canon Karm Refalo as archpriest of the Maria Bambina parish of Xaghra and Fr Joe Zammit as archpriest of Qala.

Born in 1961, Canon Refalo was ordained by Bishop Cauchi in 1986. He is the former archpriest of Qala and is a member of the presbyterian council and a lecturer at the Sacred Heart seminary.

The new Qala archpriest was born in 1959 and was ordained by Pope John Paul II in 1984. Until recently he was vicar at the Qala parish.

Fr Zammit is a judge of the Ecclesiastical Tribunal in Malta and in Gozo, a director of the seminary, chaplain of Gozo Channel Co. Ltd and the bishop's delegate for Gozitan professionals.
