Hungarian ambassador Istvan Kovacs yesterday presented his letters of credence to President Guido de Marco.

Mr Kovacs was born in Budapest in 1956 and graduated from the State University of Maryland, the US. He joined the Hungarian Foreign Affairs Ministry in 1978.

Before being appointed ambassador to Malta, Mr Kovacs was the director within the department of EU communication at the Hungarian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
