New judge and three magistrates sworn in

Charmaine Galea promoted from magistrate to judge, while Franca Giordmaina, Patrick Valentino and Claudio Zammit take up magistrate roles

A judge and three magistrates were sworn in on Thursday evening following public calls for vacant judicial posts to be filled.

Madame Justice Charmaine Galea was promoted from magistrate to judge, after not being selected in the previous round of judicial appointments in October. She was among 12 candidates who had applied for the post.
