David Stellini has been appointed by the Investments Minister as chairman of Maltapost plc, succeeding Joe Grioli who has been chairman since December 5, 2003.

The Department of Information said that Minister Austin Gatt accepted the resignation of Mr Grioli, who resigned for personal reasons.

Educated at St Edward's College, Mr Stellini is managing director of Charles de Giorgio Ltd.

In the past he had served as director of the Malta Maritime Authority and of the Water Services Corporation. He also served as a council member of the Chamber of Commerce and honorary treasurer of the Maltese-American Chamber of Commerce.
