Melita Cable yesterday appointed Danny Rosso as managing director with immediate effect.

Mr Rosso previously held the post of Melita Cable`s finance director.

Mr Rosso, 52, was one of the pioneers of Melita Cable plc, joining the company at its inception in 1991.

Coming from a banking- and finance-related background, he has held a number of positions within the company. He has also worked and trained in Italy and the UK.

Company chairman Joe Gasan announced that he is stepping down from his interim role as Melita Cable`s chief executive officer.

Melita said its customer base was over 90,000 and growing.

The company recently increased its share capital by over Lm2.8 million.
