Following yet another successful year, boasting record-breaking sales in both the domestic and international markets, SsangYong Motor is proud to begin this year by unveiling the newest addition to its product line: the Rexton Sports Khan, to be released as the Musso Grand in Europe later this year.

Following the 2011 acquisition of SsangYong by Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, the Korean car manufacturer has seen an impressive amount of investment and innovation leading to its unprecedented growth.

This business strategy has allowed SsangYong to test new waters as well as to continue growing its already popular and successful products. The SsangYong Musso Grand is a by-product of this rising prosperity. This new model plays on the success and global acclaim of the popular SsangYong Musso, which sold more than 42,000 units in Korea last year.

The new version of the model shares the basic blueprint of the SsangYong Musso. However, engineers at the Korean company have improved on the vehicle specifically to target drivers keen on outdoor activities and leisure sports and for those requiring more storage space for their equipment.

The Musso Grand is 31cm longer than its counterpart, with a 5.4 metre-long body. The height and wheelbase have also been increased by 1.5cm and 11cm respectively. The long-bodied vehicle is highlighted by an increased load capacity of 1,262 litres, which is up 24.8 per cent from the Rexton Sports. This enables the Grand to carry up to 700 kilos on its deck, up by 75 per cent from the previous model’s 400kg.

The Grand’s e-XDi220 LET diesel engine offers high fuel efficiency while remaining quiet with added high performance and reliability. The Musso Grand offers an output performance of a maximum 181 ps, or metric horsepower and torque of 42.8 kg-m.

Maintaining a similar exterior design to the 2018 Musso, the Grand shows off a well-sculpted front with slick headlights on top of its highly-durable improved grille. The fierce profile of the Musso Grand complements its curves and spacious cargo hold.

With regard to the interior design of the vehicle, much remains similar to the previous model. The well-fitted quilted nappa leather seats compliment the spacious natural feel of the vehicle. The Grand also employs a high volume of technological features available, such as multi-adjustable seating, automated air-conditioning, ambient night-lighting, climate control and the supervision cluster ensuring a modernised and comfortable driving experience.

The additional enhancements designed for the new SsangYong Musso Grand have elevated the already popular pick-up vehicle into an even stronger market position, with many drivers already keen to try their hand behind the wheel.
