New resource room inaugurated

The new resource room at the Prof. Anton Tabone primary school in Birzebbuga was inaugurated by Education Minister Louis Galea yesterday.

The room is equipped with a data projector, computers, DVD player, video, Hi-Fi system, cable television, books and other educational material.

It is one of the school's goals to ensure it adheres to the national curriculum, which says that children should have access to the latest teaching tools.

The resource room also has a small stage for the children to stage their own drama and musical productions. It has an informal design to allow children to learn while having fun.

Once the room was ready school headmaster Charles Debono invited the parents to visit and to donate a book for the children's use.

Eventually the room will be opened up to the community of Birzebbuga.
