A paragraph carried in the middle of the report entitled "Broadcasting watchdog advises PBS to be careful" (March 26) stated: "The Authority said that after hearing both sides, it agreed with PBS that the activity was of enough importance to be reported in a news bulletin but not accompanied by footage."
May I point out that this paragraph taken from our press release should have been quoted in conjunction with another paragraph that immediately followed. Taken on its own and in the way it was constructed, this paragraph conveyed exactly the opposite meaning to that intended apart from contradicting what followed in your own report.
These paragraphs should have read: "The authority said that after hearing both sides it considered PBS's assessment that Alternattiva Demokratika's activity was of news value to be a correct one so much so that it was carried in its news bulletin, although without film footage.
"However what was to be addressed was Alternattiva Demokratika's complaint that it was not afforded the same facilities that were given to the other political parties in the same news bulletin and which were also illustrated with visual material."
