Nine Britons were among 11 people arrested by the police for drug possession on Thursday and yesterday.

The police said seven Britons aged between 18 and 22 were arrested on Thursday for drug possession. Five were taken to court where they admitted simple possession and were let off with a warning.

Another two Britons admitted to possession of drugs which were not for their exclusive use. One was jailed for a year and fined €500 and the other was jailed for 11 months and fined  €500. The drugs were ketamine, MDMA and cannabis

Yesterday, the police arrested another two Britons and a Maltese after they were found in possession of  ecstasy.

Another man, 24, whose nationality was not disclosed by the police was found in possession of cannabis with intent to traffic.  They are due to be taken to court.
