Nine Nigerian migrants were deported to Lagos today.

The men - including some who had escaped custody to avoid a previous repatriation flight - were escorted onto a Frontex-chartered flight this afternoon.

The flight was also carrying a number of migrants deported from Italy.

Each migrant was escorted by two security officers.

Some 140 deportations have been made in the past month. They were arranged by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Today's flight was wholly paid for by Frontex.
