Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni has dismissed reports of a rift between World Cup strikers Vincenzo Montella and Francesco Totti saying there is no bad feeling between the pair. Montella had been upset by Roma team-mate Totti's failure to mention him as an ideal partner for Christian Vieri in attack but Trapattoni said the issue had now been put to bed. "There is no problem between them, they are two lads. Montella has a good heart just like Totti has a good heart," the Italy coach said. Montella's comments that he was "surprised" by being omitted from Totti's thoughts prompted a huge reaction in Italian media. Lurid headlines such as "Montella rages - Even Totti won't help me" and "Montella against Totti - Even here I am alone" have ensured the issue has dominated Italian newspaper coverage in the build-up to Italy's opening Group G match against Ecuador tomorrow.
