The Prime Minister has been reported as saying “we took nothing from the people” when arguing that no new taxes were announced in the last Budget. But he did not say that the old taxes his own government had introduced are still there.

Yet, there is a graver implication not referring to taxation because his government has taken a lot from the people by depriving them of open air spaces, building on agricultural land and ODZ, selling citizenship, forgetting his pre-election promises of governing according to principles of accountancy, meritocracy and transparency.

His government has deprived the people of the real ‘equality’ because only preferred supporters are handed fabulous amounts of money while the population at large is given peanuts.

Certainly, his government has proved to be a government for the Labour Party and not for all the country. Many people are deprived of their rights of having an equal opportunity to improve their standard of living and quality of life.
