More nominations for casual elections among Labour candidates

The casual elections will be held on Friday

The Electoral Commission has announced candidates who submitted their nominations on Monday for the casual elections to fill parliamentary seats vacated by Labour candidates who were elected from two districts at the general elections.

The nominations were the following:

Second Electoral District (seat ceded by Robert Abela)

Jesmond Bonello, Georvin Bugeja and James Grech.

Third Electoral District (seat ceded by Chris Fearne)

James Grech, Eric Plumpton.

Seventh Electoral District (seat ceded by Ian Borg)

Samantha Pace Gasan.

Eighth Electoral District (seat ceded by Clyde Caruana)

Ramona Attard, Jesmond Bonello, Alex Muscat.

Ninth Electoral District (seat ceded by Clifton Grima)

Tania Borg and Rebecca Buttigieg.  

Ninth Electoral District (seat ceded by Michael Falzon)

Rebecca Buttigieg.

Eleventh Electoral District (seat ceded by Miriam Dalli)

Alex Muscat.

Twelfth Electoral District (seat ceded by Jonathan Attard)

Franco Mercieca and Demorah Schembri.

Nominations opened on Friday and continue till Wednesday. The casual elections will be held on Friday, when the ballots of the successful candidates will be opened and the voter preferences counted to elect the new MPs.
