The Health Division will allocate 10 nurses at Mount Carmel Hospital and a number of nursing aides shortly as a result of an agreement over staff deployment at the hospital, the government said.
The agreement was reached at a meeting with the unions representing workers at the hospital. They agreed on the way the deployment of nurses and nursing aides should be made.
Agreement was also reached over the setting up of a task force made up of union and hospital management representatives to make recommendations for a revision and an updating of the deployment exercise concluded in 2001.
Louis Bonnici is task force chairman.
