Is it indeed the same Minister of Tourism who, on one hand, is pressing hard for more artificial golf courses and, on the other, states: "Sustainable tourism concerns the future of humanity" (The Sunday Times, October 23)?

According to the World Tourism Organisation, sustainable tourism development is tourism which "... operates in harmony with the local environment, community and culture, so that these become the permanent beneficiaries and not victims of tourism development".

I wonder where golf courses, consuming so much land and water, feature in this equation.
