Notice at 12.15 p.m. the other day on the corner of Mrabat Street with Rue d'Argens, Sliema, a road sign reading: "Traffic for Triq d'Argens is closed".

Why not "Rue" as the street has been traditionally known? Why this obsession with giving street names only in Maltese?

And surely you close a street to traffic but you don't close traffic?
