Of delays and charges

I had been waiting for a parcel sent from relatives in the UK, which took two-and-a half weeks to arrive! I wonder why.

When I contacted Maltapost they told me they had adopted a new system which consisted of the parcel being passed around various departments and finishing in a private courier company which delivers the parcels. The funny thing is that if they call and no one is there to collect the parcel, they leave a note which says you have to call Maltapost to deliver at a charge of 75c or else you have to call at head office in Marsa and collect the parcel yourself.

Such is the efficiency Maltapost has adopted!

It is a disgrace to charge 75c when postage has been paid already by the sender in order for the item to reach its destination. Also it is a disgrace to have to collect the parcel from the Marsa office when there are post office branches in almost every village.
