The letter The Miracle Of The 10 Per Cent (May 29) is highly offensive, in extremely bad taste, and certainly neither amusing nor witty. Had its target been the Muslim faith, would The Times have published it? I daresay not!

On the pretext of allowing space for different opinions (not necessarily your own), the Catholic Church, its beliefs, and now even Dun Gorg have become fair game for The Times.

In my view The Times should never have published this letter and should not have offended the vast majority of its readers.
