I would like to pay tribute to the organisers, producers, volunteers and the public for making L-Istrina a fund-raising success.

However, it was sad to see the performance of young male "strippers" who could otherwise use their dancing talents in a decent and still creative way. I consider this type of performance, directed towards the community, as offensive and degrading.

Many of the viewers, both in front of their TV sets or as part of the live audience, were under age. What message are we sending to future generations when we permit such a performance to be aired on a public fund-raising programme, offending the moral standards of the majority of the community?

Perhaps in future the organisers will examine more closely the effect that such performances may have on the community, and decide not to air them.
