An American-owned oil rig yesterday morning entered the dockyard for extensive repairs, a Malta Drydocks spokesman said.

The rig arrived from Egypt and had been due for a number of days.

The 'yard is currently very busy with a good flow of work expected until the end of April.

At Malta Shipbuilding, work is underway on the hull of a ship for a Norwegian company and on a barge for another company.
