An accident is waiting to happen in Xagħra, where a drop of over three metres is closed off by a low, unstable wall and some netting. The road, located close to Marsalforn Road, is a very busy one and is used daily by WasteServ trucks on their way to Qortin Landfill. Cars meeting at this point are at risk of falling into the chasm.

Limited view

Large signs put up in the main road leading to St Vincent de Paul are blocking the view of traffic turning towards the home. The size and position of these signs make it difficult for drivers, coming from the direction of the Addolorata cemetery, to clearly see where traffic is heading. Can Transport Malta do something about this?

Waste management

Warehouses at tal-Ħandaq Industrial Estate in Qormi are leaving behind a complete mess after they close shop for the weekend. Used cardboard boxes and other waste is strewn all over the place, with liquid seeping out from some of the garbage. Isn’t there anybody monitoring this area?

Empty containers

A Sliema resident is complaining about empty containers from McDonald’s at Tigné seafront being thrown all over the built side of the pavement. This, he says, happens daily. McDonald’s containers with liquids are also being spilt in the area. The resident has spoken with the manager of the establishment, who assured him that action would be taken, but the problem persists.

Red light spot

Until some time ago, Transport Malta officers used to be stationed at the traffic lights next to the Independence Monument in Floriana to wave on traffic coming from the direction of the War Memorial, even when the lights were red, provided the road was clear. For some reason they are no longer deployed there and the result is a long line of cars, even blocking a lane in St Anne Street, waiting for the lights to turn green when no traffic is coming from the direction of Floriana church.
