Two men riding a motorcycle died on Saturday morning, following a collision with a car in Mosta.

The two men were Pakistani nationals living in St Paul's Bay aged 41 and 33. 

They were riding a Yamaha Crypton motorcycle on Triq iż-Żejfa at 6am when they were involved in a crash with a Smart Fortwo car driven by a 41-year-old Mellieħa man.

One of the two riders, aged 33, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. The other was rushed to hospital in a critical condition and died a short time later. 

The Smart driver was also taken to hospital for medical treatment, where he was treated for slight injuries. 

Another motorcyclist injured

Meanwhile, a man was grievously injured in a separate motorcycle accident in Paola on Saturday at 1.30 pm.

The accident happened in Vjal Santa Lucija.

The man fell off his motorbike after losing control of the vehicle.

A medical team and ambulance were called for and he was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

It was later confirmed he had been grievously injured.
